Hmmmmmm! Yeah you’re probably wondering why I picked Mike Vallely for this week……I guess I’m kinda wondering the same thing! Why did I pick Mike Vallely?? Well despite what I or anyone else thinks about him now Mike V. was super sick when he first came on the pro scene in 1988. Back then he was skating for Powell Peralta, his part in Public Domain was super good! Since then Mike has skated for World industries, New Deal, Black Label, Element and even owned his own brands like T.V and Vallely skateboards. Mike V. has always seemed to make a lasting impression for whatever company he skated for and his board graphics always had some kind of meaning behind them like saving the African Elephant or being a vegetarian. I know one thing when I see an Elephant or a lighting bolt, I always think Mike V. Sometimes I hear people hating on him and although he might have brought that upon himself, you still got to give him credit for being such a huge influence on street skating and skating in general. Today I have mixed feelings on the guy, I thought he was amazing back then and no doubt he was! Today people just think of him for fighting four guys at once, getting in a fight with a guy at an Anaheim Ducks game or possibly just as the reckless gangster in Paul Blart Mall Cop. However I think of him as a guy who added his own style to skateboarding and brought meaning to skateboard graphics. Oh and by the way Mike I think you would look good with a Winged Wheel on your

Jersey if you know what I mean! GO WINGS!
